Database

The software products for a full system would require:

FIX - running locally on each desktop using ZIM and optionally MS SQL for consolidation.  This software provides all the administrative functions as well as the ability to enter receipts, requisitions, inventory adjustments, forms specifications and run standard reporting.

osCommerce - running on a IIS/Apache HTTP server using PHP and MYSQL.  This software provides the requisitioning functions for users accessing the system by browser.  The majority of users accessing this software will be placing requisitions onto the system.  This system is fully integrated with the FIX database.

Internally FIX runs on ZIM database provided as a bundled Runtime only system.  This local database provides quick response time on each desktop using the core modules.  The link to MS SQL is optional and installation configurable.  This allows users to develop reports using database tools for MS SQL that will not impact the production/performance of the warehouse picking operations.

From a pricing perspective, FIX's bundled local database (ZIM) is included in the pricing, MS SQL and MYSQL are extra and osCommerce core modules are provided free as an open source project. 

Security

FIXPro is support on a Windows NT/2K/XP Platform and uses standard file systems for authentication. In addition to the usual security features, FIXPro is certified by the highest military authorities in both the US and Canada for encryption (optionally available upon request). Option security available also restricts users to database entities, record changing and actual field level changes. Standard, included security within FIXPro supports restriction by user level, and selection. In addition to standard FIXPro, reporting can be customized by Ironwood or the end users.
