fixfolders.gif (3576 bytes) When using the default installation software, FIX is installed into specific directories or folders.  By default the directory structure is as shown here.  The main database directory is called c:\program files\ironwood\fix when this is installed on the local client computer.  The actual database files are stored in this directory as files zim01*, zim02*, zim03*, zim08* .  The SQL engine is also stored in this directory called Zim. exe (single user) or zimrtmu.exe (multi-user).   The FIX selection software(compiled) is stored in the directory zim0001.ws while there is also another directory for interpreted software selections (programs) used only in single user mode.  The directory 'client' contains a setup.exe program for a workstation program to allow access to multiple FIX databases from one desktop icon.   The directory 'odbcdrv\setup32' contains a setup.exe program to install the ODBC drivers that allow Excel & other spread sheet, reporting tools to access the FIX database directly.  HTM is the default directory for XML exports.  The Services directory contains software selections used by the single user engine.  The CLIPDIR directory contains bitmaps and images displayed on the FIX selection screens.
