Workpath - A unique directory for each specific FIX user.  This directory may be a subfolder of the database path, or located on the local machine's hard drive.  When located as a sub directory of the database directory, backup of these directories is typically combined with backup of the database directory.  Some systems that import and export data to general ledgers and shipping systems use this directory for text files used in these processes.

When located on the local machine's hard drive the FIX product performs best, since many record actions use this directory to store record pointers, sorting temporary files, and temporary print files.

NOTE: THIS DIRECTORY MUST BE UNIQUE TO EACH FIX USER SESSION.
