Exporting Items to an XML document

(How to publish your items to an internet/intranet/extranet website)

FIX stores items and item information into what is referred to as the “Item Master”.  Use this feature to export items from it to an XML document.  The following example uses the subfolder ‘HTM’ as the target folder(directory) and items.xml.  Select from the main menu ‘Utilities – Load and Repair – XML Database Export’.

You must have:

ü     Access to FIX with a User Level less than or equal to 10

ü     Items in a FIX database

ü     Sub-Directory named HTM (or change the default and ensure the sub-directory exists)

If you have the ‘Browse when complete’ check box enabled, then your default internet browser (Iexplorer or Netscape) will launch and show the exported file.

Once the export is completed, FIX will display a dialog box with the filenames created.

If you have a web site where you wish to display items, publish these files from the folder and filenames indicated onto your website and provide a link to the file ‘items.htm’.
