Reports available from FIX come in a variety of ways.  Built in reports are designed to provide full audit control over both the quantity and value of the inventory and it's activity.  These reports are 'text' based, rapidly produced and available as files for viewing, storing or emailing.  [Click here for samples]. For more diverse needs FIX uses Crystal Reports (Seagate), Jetform (Adobe) or Excel (Microsoft).

Each tool has different strengths.  FIX uses Crystal for it's visual appeal, and email ability built into the process.  It is slightly slower to produce information than the built in reports.  Crystal reports use ODBC to access the FIX database.  Many Crystal report programmers are available and it is a tool that an entry level programmer can quickly master.

Jetform is used with FIX for it's merge capabilities; to merge data streams from FIX into Forms from Jetform and subsequently 'print'.  FIX quickly exports the database information into Jetform data files stored on a server.  The printing or merging is actually done by the Jetform central server.  This removes the processing time to merge graphical output and data from the workstation.  Typically the design of the forms is done by a skilled forms or graphic designer.

Excel reporting is used by many FIX users to built ad-hoc reports or tables and then email them to their clients.  The access is typically done by either DDE or ODBC.
